Online Classes - 4 Advantages of Online Classes

We have all studied in schools and colleges, in the classrooms where teachers taught on the whiteboard. But let it not be surprising that the future generations will learn from their home using their computers. There are already a significant number of online classes that people can enroll for. These classes have many advantages. o Convenience: Is it not convenient to attend a class from your home? Obviously it is. You do not have to travel anywhere and you do not need to carry any workbooks. You do not even have to attend the class at the same time everyday. All you need is your personal computer and an internet connection. Convenience is a big advantage of online classes not just for the student but also for the instructor, who just has to upload the content and allow the students to learn on their own. o Offline Communication: In a traditional class, there is no way of contacting the teacher if you forgot to ask him during the class. But in online classes, you can always leave a message for the teacher on the message board. Whenever the teacher sees the message, he will reply. Similarly, teachers can leave common or specific instructions for students via the message board. There is no case of anyone claiming that he did not see the notice board. Apart from message boards, communication can also be allowed via email, instant chat or voice chat. o Learning Window: In a traditional class, there is pressure on the student to learn the concepts within a given class itself. When the teacher moves on to the next class, it becomes difficult to raise a question on the previous class. The instructor is also under pressure to deliver the course content in a specific class. Things are different for an online class. The student has a learning window during which the class is active. This can even be as long as 2 months and the instructor is available to answer any queries within this window. This reduces the learning pressure considerably. o Personal Attention: One of the drawbacks of the traditional system is that teachers cannot effectively focus on each individual's learning needs. While in an online class, it does not matter whether there are 10 students or 100 students, the instructor can develop a rapport with each and every student. He can answer specific questions asked by one student or reply to all the students simultaneously. Students can even learn from the responses given to the queries of other students. There are many advantages of online classes. They have completely revolutionized the way teaching and learning happens.
